A LEGACY OF EXCELLENCE
IPPOLITA was founded by Ippolita Rostagno, an Italian artist and designer. Born and raised in the Tuscan hills outside of Florence to an American artist mother and Italian intellectual father, the designer grew up surrounded by art. She went on to study sculpture and ceramics in Florence, and later moved to New York City, where she began working with 18k gold. Her interest turned toward intimate jewelry pieces crafted to be displayed close to the body, leading to jewelry designs for prominent retailers.
In 1999, Ippolita started her own brand of jewelry, inspired by the richness and simplicity of Italian life. Every one-of-a-kind piece has a sculptural quality that hearkens back to Ippolita’s early creative life, resulting in an object of craft, intention and beauty that incorporates precious metals and expertly cut, hand-faceted gemstones.

Their refineries purchase returned consumer jewelry and industrial scrap gold, remove all alloys and contaminants to create 99.99% pure gold, and then combine it with silver to create their lustrous 18k “green” gold alloy.
